Who's Opinion Really Matters?

It seems like today you go to social media and everyone has an opinion about everything. Whether it is about politics, religion, what you think about Pokemon Go, and who should win the Bachelorette. In a world where everyone feels like their voice matters and you need to hear what they have to say, who do you listen to? Not only that but are we adding to the noise that is my opinion.

First what is an opinion. It is a thought that is formed that is not based on facts or knowledge or truth. It is someones perspective on a situation. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:2 "Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their opinions." In James 1:19 it says that we should be "...quick to listen and slow to speak..." yet so many people post or say what comes to their mind right away without knowing facts or the truth, so therefore it is their opinion.

Now their opinion may be found to be true with time but we have to be careful to not accept opinions as facts. We should also guard our lives as Christians to not be reactionary and opinionated but seek to understand others and listen first. 

Ultimately the opinion or rather should I say the truth, that we seek more than anything is what God has to say. Never fall so in love with others "opinions" (or your own) that you forget to seek the one who is all truth and knowledge. Seek his truth and it will help you shut out a lot of opinions of others. It will allow you to form not just an opinion but truth that you can stand on and trust in.
